oak slabs

Does anyone have any contacts or suggestions for purchasing slab oak?  I would be looking 3m x 500/600mm x 40/50mm.

Looking to get 2 sliding barn doors made for the new build. I am based in NI so transport may be an issue but we will see.

I have searched locally but have drawn a blank.

Thanks in advance.

Yep but the shipping would be eye watering ..!!

Search for drtimber at Mumby on eBay - has some fantastic stuff but won't ship so you would need to sort that.

5-600mm will be a real challenge for both finding it and also keeping it flat - you would be better using 200mm and a decent frame.

I've purchased some oak from these people in the past.

If I remember correctly the owner of the company is Polish and they import small quantities of high quality wood from Europe, turn it into feature tables and kitchens. Some is exported back to Europe.

I have a feeling they prefer or only deal with trade customers but not sure.

Just noticed you wanted it for barn doors! Try local saw mill?

Tried saw mills but drawn a blank so far. I have an offer of 2 cubic meters of 15 year air dried oak in 4m lengths shipped to Dublin. Just weighing up my options.
