Upstairs UFH new build - best system for suspended timber floor

Hi,

New build with posi joists for first floor and wishing to put wet UFH on ground floor and first floor.

What is the best solution - concerned about pre-cut boards snapping due to lack of material. Putting UFH under the chipboard seems like it'll just be heating the space rather than the upstairs - is the best solution to put regular chipboard and then pre-cut boards on top?

Grateful for any experiences good/bad here.

Many thanks

With posi joists, you cannot notch, so you whole really needs to sit on top of the joists.  You need to insulate below the UFH upstairs as well downstairs.

By the time you've finish you are likely to loose 40-50mm room height quite easily.

If I did it again I would just install rads in the bedrooms and electric UFH in any upstairs bathrooms.  Slow heat up time and bedrooms don't really work in my head.  Carpets will only add to the heat up times
