eandg
Does anyone have any market info on lead times? We've went from our likely contractor contacting us frequently to ask about progress to them going almost completely to ground and not responding to enquiries, and I've just completed an online enquiry with a competitor saying it's a 4 week turnaround just to respond to emails given demand. Ordering roofcoverings soon so will determine whether we go for in-roof as planned or for on-roof.
saveasteading
A contractor is nervous about where the next job is coming from, has often to juggle several potential clients....and then is too busy....or has no work. Often there is minimal notice from getting the order to starting. So i suggest politely keeping in touch, as it won't be personal, but he might be at the on/off stage with someone else, and avoiding burning of bridges. And look elsewhere at the same time. Appreciate that, thanks - and that's exactly the approach we're taking. Just wondering what other's experience is of current market conditions as it'll inform whether we hang on for in-roof or retrofit later.
Dillsue
I've no experience with in roof trays but would have thought it feasible to buy the trays and get your roofer to fit and flash them. Sort out the solar installer in your own time
