Hello all,

I’ve currently pulled down an old conservatory and intend to replace it with a new conservatory with under floor heating (approx. 3.5x7.5 mtr). I have planning (needed because it touches another extension to the main building) and building regs. The footings are in and I’m nearly at DPC.

I’m self-building due to a number or reasons, Cost, control, because I hope that I can.

I have been searching multiple places for information, my architect, building officer, NHBC, internet etc. but because I lack the experience I’m struggling finding the finer detail or at least selecting the correct finer detail.

I understand that the Building inspector is king but there are so many ways to do something.

What makes it worse is that I’m an Engineer and it’s the finer detail that I rely on but I admit that sometimes I go completely over the top for sometimes no need.

This site seems to have all areas covered and looks to have a fantastic wealth of knowledge.

Please forgive some of my forthcoming post and just blame it on an Engineering having OCD!

I look forward to all of your advice and help as I need all that I can get.

Best regards

Warren.

I think my terminology of conservatory maybe misleading. 150 cavity wall, warm roof 5mtr sliding doors on front.

Existing French doors and sliding doors leading to old conservatory being taken out leading to new.

drawing just says 'Refer to specialist heating design for position of radiators etc. Please not the client is considering the option of underfloor heating to the extension and this  will affect the position f the insulation and whether a screed finish will be require.'

Its all a little to grey for me hence my left eye is starting to twitch.

I feel that I will have many asks on this site to clarify.

Regards

Warren.
