cwr
Hi folks. I'm considering fitting these type of slotted threshold drains at some of my external doors. Slightly concerned though as to how they could be cleared if blocked up. I like the idea of having easy access. Is there some clever way the slotted bit lifts out or something, or is it just a case of hosing out? Thanks
Temp
Because the slot is narrow you probably won't get anything in there big enough to block the drain pipe itself. Pressure washer in the slot will clear out dirt etc. You could also put put an access off to one side of the door. There channels with removable covers but I've found grit tends to cement the covers in place. You end up having to pressure wash out grit to get them back in position. cwr
Thanks for the reply. I'm also wondering if the drain should be fitted tight to the threshold (orange line in sketch) or more in line with the outside wall (yellow line in sketch)? My initial preference is the former, but there's examples of both on t'internet.
