Any advice for buying a 30yr old Potton home? Are they well insulated? Easy to insure and do you need specialist tradespersons for repair work?
Any constructive advice welcome.

Timber frame has been around for ages.  The insulation and airtightness standards 30 years ago were nothing like as stringent as they are now.  If it has a brick or rendered block outer leaf it should be easy to insure and mortgage.  No specialist trades needed.

Hi yes they should be fine. You don’t need special trades to do things to them, timber frame is fairly straightforward.

Timber frame is non-traditional construction, especially with larger areas of render-on-lath but beyond that it should be fine.
