learner
Hi Experts I have to get category 0 fire safety on a new external timber shiplap clad wall. I have spent a lot on paint and want to speed things up so bought a £50 sprayer. No matter what i do i cant get a smooth finish on the paint. The paint guy said i wont get a smooth finish until i use the acrylic top coat. is this normal?
JohnMo
We had intumescent paint on internal doors, it looked cr*p. Got building control out the way, rubbed it down lightly to knock of the high spots and acrylic painted over the top, looked the same as the other doors without the intumescent paint. markc
Intumescent isn’t a decorative finish, it’s there to do a job. Works just as well with a decorative topcoat as that would likely burn off before the intumescent fluffed up.
