Niall
Hi, Advice please... We're having UFH in our loft conversion. It'll be an overfloor system (probably Wundatherm Premium + EPS 400). Over this we're thinking of having click-LVT flooring. The question is, other than the underlay for the LVT, what else do we need in the middle? I'm assuming the 5.5mm think LVT 'Rigid Core' click tiles aren't strong enough on their own and we'll need a sheet of plywood? (Ideally would like to avoid screed or levelling compound) Niall. George
Are the UFH pipes going on top of the floorboards? I'd thought they go beneath, in between the joists. Then the floorboards (chipboard, ply, planks etc) is the structural floor for the floor covering.
Temp
So the floor top to bottom will be something like this?.. LVT flooring Something? Wundatherm Premium/UFH EPS 400 18mm OSB ? Joists Insulation between joists? I know Wundatherm Premium is intended for direct tiles on top. Not sure about LVT. I suggest you ask them. If you can't put LVT directly on top then perhaps use something like a cement backer board.
