Hi Guys,

Trying to get my head around partition wall make up to pass Part E2 of the regs in England and Wales.

I am looking to use 100mm Mineral Sound Insulation (10kg/m2density) between partition walls and floors. Will this work with single lining of standard 12.5mm plasterboard, or do I still need to double the plasterboard (standard) or use E10 Blue Sound Board to pass E2?

Any help gladly received.

Thanks

Ben

Use single 15 mil soundblock

If your above a ceiling Use a single strip of 15 mil sound block under the sole plate or floor track

You will get better acoustic performance from metal C stud than timber
