Ray Hall
I had a patio laid using Indian sandstone, sawn mint. All good apart from 3 or 4 slabs which have developed weird marks. Landscaper tells me he did a full mortar bed (not dot and dab) and used SBR on every slab. I’d welcome opinions on this.
rh2205
Well I’d love to know answers on this too but afraid no clue! We were thinking getting smooth sandstone in either mint fossil or kandla grey from stone paving direct and now I’m nervous!! Big area and don’t have a lot of budget and we are doing ourselves ??? Marvin
Seal tiles all over before laying. Make sure tiles dry before doing this! Edited September 30, 2021 by Marvin
rh2205
@Marvin so we shouldn’t be scared off by honed sandstone oh and with what sealant? @Ray Hall who did you buy your honed sandstone from, I guess if you’ve mostly only had a good outcome I am just not sure how to tell where it is reputable to buy it from, keep reading things like quality varies massively but can’t afford to buy “Marshall’s” branded paving etc. Edited October 4, 2021 by rh2205
