At the final design stages of my build and just going over the small details. The architect has a 4.25m bifold to the garden and in the spirit of trying to help my budget as much as possible I’m trying to make sure I have a standard size opening.

from what I’ve seen 4.2 is available along with 4m. With 4m being a bit cheaper naturally.

Any thoughts or expertise on standard sizes?

thanks

There all made to order

But 4.2 is a good size

It would give you four doors

Most recommend keeping the glass under 1000

From memory our glass was about 910

Odd number of panes is a good idea as you will have a "normally" opening master door at one end, a good idea if you plan on using it regularly as an access/egress door.

Leafs are normally 700-1000mm each. So for a 4200 opening you could have 5 840mm leafs. Either that or 4 as above would be smashing.

We've a 5 leaf, 4620mm door arriving in two weeks time!!!!

Bifolds look great

But in reality they are not that practical

We are going to have two pairs of sliders in our next build
