Peterp
Could anyone recommend a drill hire for a toilet waste pipe through this wall (see picture). It’s an old stone wall cottage which are about 50cm thick. any advice much appreciated thanks Peter
TonyT
Just phone the hire place near you and ask to hire a diamond corer and drill( with a clutch) Make sure it has extension bars to cover the depth of the wall. Waste pipe is 110mm so it has to be a larger diameter than this. you drill a pilot hole then swap to the core drill, drilling the depth of the corer, pull it out, and tip the corer upside down to clear the debris, repeat until through the wall. the drill will have a clutch to stop you spinning around the drill when it jambs. Mr Punter
You can either use a core drill with SDS or just break out a hole big enough and foam around and fill with sand cement.
Peterp
Thanks. Is using an SDS maybe the best option on an old thick cottage wall? As the stone (like granite) will be layer and in even or will a core drill just fire through this no problem? and roughly how long would it take to drill though a 50cm wall like this? ....sorry I haven’t a clue and have no experience of drilling thanks peter
