Alan1983 Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Hi everyone. I’m looking for some advice please. we’re looking to convert our single garage into a living space. The work would involve: - replace current garage door with bricks and window - cut out a section of the wall between the garage and hallway for an access door - install a false wall at the back of the garage where the boiler would be kept (stay in cirrrnet position) - install one new radiator in the new living space - install multiple electric sockets in the new living space - raise the floor a couple of inches to make it level with the rest of house. -frame out the room and put in installation and plasterboard walls The boiler and electric fuse box is already housed in the garage. the design/drawings should be straightforward enough however I do not know what exactly I would need to meet the criteria of for building regs to pass the building warrant. would anyone be able to please help me with this? Many thanks Alan
Alan1983 Posted November 9, 2020 Author Posted November 9, 2020 Sorry forgot to say we live in Scotland - not sure if that makes a difference for building regs?

MAB Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 This website should help you:- https://www.buildingregs4plans.co.uk/ Garage conversion:- https://www.buildingregs4plans.co.uk/garage_conversion_plans.php
DevilDamo Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Also check to see if the conversion works require Planning approval.
