Jenjen Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I was looking for a bit of advice about k-rend. We were planning a crisp white rendered finish (alongside cladding and facing bricks). Our architect specified k-rend but in passing our builder mentioned a silicone render may be better. Has anyone used either or avoided one? There seems to be such mixed reviews about k-rend and it’s longevity over time.
SuperJohnG Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 K rend is the brand. Silicone type is just one of their types..its a much thinner system and marketed as a premium finish. Thats all I can add at the moment, I am planning a silcone render finish from k rend or equivalent but not for a few months yet.

Expand K Rend is a silicon render Most of the other manufacturers do a silicon render K rend is probably the most popular and along with Stucco K rend is the most consistent for colour match and backup
