RDarko
Hi All, We’re renovating our bathroom and are going to remove the small radiator and have electric underfloor heating instead. from what I can tell, we have mostly compression joints and I think I can remove the radiator and use these to cap each pipe under the floorboard. https://www.diy.com/departments/polyplumb-push-fit-socket-end-dia-15mm-pack-of-2/80893_BQ.prd Or should I join the the two pipes together? There’s lots of conflicting information. Thanks! Robbie.
PeterW
It depends ...!! If it’s a flow and return system - so the two pipes are not connected to the same pipe - then caps are OK. If the supply pipes are from the same pipe, then again you can cap off. However if the flow goes through the inlet then out the rad at the other side you would need to join the pipes ..! I would keep the pipes anyway and put in a towel rail, you will struggle to heat a bathroom in an older house with underfloor heating alone. Nickfromwales
+1. Heating the bathroom with electric UTH ( under tile heating ) will be bloody expensive to run! Have the UTH by all means, but not as your primary heat source.
