TheMick
Hi all. After a bit of advice please. I'm doing up an out building come shed. I'm putting in loft hatches as open and shut option to give ventilation and a bit light now and then. What's everyone's thoughts on cutting a 20mm notch/slot as shown in a joist that's 75mm wide? No load bearing other than the corrugated metal roof above it and 5 joist/rafter across the whole roof ceiling space. Thx
Oz07
That's not a hoist as such surely it's just stopping spread. If 75mm wide I wouldn't worry about 20mm

I was thinking the same but you know when doubt creeps in and you start to think about all the work you have put in previous which this may compromise if wrong haha
