Coops
Hi folks, was hoping someone might be able to offer some advice, I have an old house which I recently bought, the chamber joist arrangement is oak spine beam and joist, which I've recently exposed from the underside and in the process of cleaning up to display..as the voids between the joists are now open, I thought it might be sensible to insulate, but with what? The space could be technically considered as warm, however as with most houses of this age the joists and spine beams rest on solid wall construction, so for that reason ventilation might be prudent....any thoughts very much appreciated. tonyshouse
If it has a room below and above then no insulation or ventilation necessary. Sound insulation might be a good move, rockwool batts fitted tight new builds require sound insulation between living rooms and bedrooms in houses
