Fence behind decking ideas

Recommended Posts

New to this forum, so firstly, hello to everyone.

I’ve just finished oiling my decking and side fences today using Liberon Clear decking oil (recommended stuff for anyone wanting to do something similar). Although I’m happy with the results (apart from the different colour areas where an old shed was), I can’t decide what to do, if anything at all, with the back fence. I did consider just oiling that too, however, I was a little concerned it would be a bit overkill. I’ve toyed with getting new fencing panels Cedar) to go over the top to whitewashing it for a contrast in colour, however, I’m just unsure.

I wouldn’t mind doing something as everything else has a newness and freshness to it now and the back fence just looks tired and weathered. I’ve uploaded some pictures so you can see. If anyone wouldn’t mind sharing some ideas, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Get a black marker on a print of that first picture to get a feel for what it'll look like. Unless you're a dab hand with Photoshop etc.

Great idea. Wouldn’t have thought to do that. That’s my next lockdown task!

If it's your only suntrap then I perhaps sun loving veggies or plants.

How about tomatoes or aubergines?

Something to nibble whilst sitting on the deck.

Or something slightly exotic with flowers, or something scented when you are most likely to sit there.
