neil_sykes987
hi, firstly I'd like to say hello to everyone here, this is a wonderful site and resource. I have a quick question about our outside carport ceiling. We might be using the below combination. - 200mm rockwool acoustic slabs in-between the joists - thick chipboard sheets screwed into joists - cement board below screwed into joists/chipboard - cement board plastered over would appreciate your advice and if there's anything better on the market/technique you can recommend. Is it worth using Kingspan sheets. want to reduce the noise coming into the room from outside and also good warmth and keeping cold out in winter. hope you can help kind regards neil
nod
It’s normal to use two layers of 15 fire block plasterboard One layer being fire moister board Cement board wouldn’t meet Building regs
neil_sykes987
thanks for the advice nod, it does look like a 2 layer solution but the local building inspector told us to use external grade board (cement board) I'd prefer to use fire block board and then plaster over, slightly confused now
