Its a local kind of merchant - collier and catchpole. They sent all invoices electronically with the copy on all of them. We went back to them but they said they cannot remove the water mark. They said they spoke to "tech " and accounts but there is nothing they can do further. We have spoken a few times but always the same outcome.

I'm in the same situation. Did you ever get a final answer about if having copy is a problem ?

I have tried but they are shut today. I will give them a call Monday I was just hoping someone could give some advice to put my mind at rest until then.

I'm really concerned. I see that hmrc only want orginal invoices not copy's for vat reclaim and I'm worried I'm going to lose out on a lot of money. The builders merchant emailed all invoices over but they have a watermark of the word " copy" over them . I've been back to them and they said there is nothing they can do. These are the only invoices I have received from them. Are these going to be rejected?

Hi. We've just had a mortgage offer from ecology mortgage for our self build home. In the special conditions they say that ' Subject to a retention of £32,000 to be released in stage payments upto 80% of increased valuations as the work progresses. Release of the retention may only be claimed upto a maximum of 24 months after the advance has been made ' I'm probably being really stupid but I don't really understand. Does this mean we won't be able to have the 32000 until it's completed?( we don't have that amount of our own savings to complete the build )
