  1. Just to mention the hard water count was 52. We also seem to be suffering cracked hands possibly due to the salt content.
  2. Hi l am new to the Forum so l hope you don't mind me joining in. This question has caught my eye as it seems to be the only one dealing with my issue. I have got an accumulator and a 3 Bar mains booster pump fitted before my combi due to longstanding poor flow and pressure issues. Unfortunately we live in a very hard water area Norfolk! So we have decided to have a Monarch Midi He fitted which has been in for 2 weeks. However it has regenerated quite frequently and used about half a bag of salt. Today l noticed a high level of water in the salt tank about half way up. I was warned by Monarch that it should be fitted after the accumulator as it would not register the water coming out of the accumulator and fesult in unsoftened water. However as l had a pump which operates every time there is a drop in pressure (ie when a tap is used) l guessed l would not have this issue. Hence installed under sink after the mains. Indeed when the pump is operating the softener registers water flow on the display. I see Jeremy recommended a non return valve after the softener but l believe my softener has one fitted. Would it need another after it? I cant find anywhere saying mainsboost pumps cause water softener problems. Is there an possible solution please. I am at my wits end as the pump people say it should be fine before an accumulator (stuart turner).
