Is the whole lead dpc not a weak point? Like a plastic dpc in a garden wall?

U values etc have been calculated for the dome itself it’s more the upstand detail for the epdm I’m concerned about as I assumed the epdm on the splayed factory one would be fine but my roofer has me second guessing myself

How do? The dome itself is triple glazed and has an insulated upstand and if I do a builders upstand as well then that would be fully insulated. Thanks for your reply!

Hi, I’m using a 600mm square access hatch on my warm epdm roof. The flat roofer is saying I need a builders upstanding as epdm doesn’t stick to the splayed plastic ones supplied. However the mechanism to open them is encased in the built in upstand so would anyone have suggestions for this? I thought epdm could stick to most things if done correctly and there are clips that come down to ‘trap’ the epdm. cheers

Hi, iv received some drawings to sister some 100mm rafters with 200mm rafters for added strength in a loft. Surely this won’t work with the deeper timber over the plate? There will be a stud wall at mid span acting as a purlin but I can’t get my head round the main plate detail unless just a seat cut which will effectively make it the equivalent of 100mm again or am I reading Tom much into it? Thanks
