  2. Already built the boat... need to do some groundworks on the river bank to create a ramp so we can store the boat in the void under the house (void is not supposed to use for storage but if there is any chance of flooding I would moor it to the house.... No idea yet on ramp up, neighbours have brick steps or rmetal stairs. I was wondering about a jetfloor type thing, my neighbour's flood assessment says he will have 300mm free above 100 year flood + climate change, we might be a tad lower and so I definitely don't want any timber on the bottom. There is a Potton house in Staines which looks very nice, they have a much longer plot Have watched the floating GD multiple times. We have land access although a bit tight for a crane. There are a lot of nice new builds on Towpath in Shepperton if you are in the area
  3. Hello, Just joined here. We have a 1920 wooden shack on the banks of the Thames in Shepperton (was Middlesex, now Surrey) and are planning to rebuild. We will need to rebuild higher as the site is functional flood plain - other houses along the lane have been rebuilt 1.5m higher following flooding in 2014 (we have been here 3 years and had about 3 floods of the lane but not our property - in 2014 it came up to just under our door. We have been looking at timber frame, talked to Scandia and Potton and Hanse in particular. Based on recent rebuilds, we have a pretty good idea of what we can build - 1.5 storey about 180 sqm 3 bedroom and I have done some plans - the plot is quite constrained and the main feature of the house is obviously the view over the river (we are very fortunate to have just trees opposite as it is a sports ground. so a Fully glazed full height gable end is definitely in the design, maybe with a conservatory style at the end (one of the best features of current house). The other gable end is split to allow for more space on the drive. I have been doing some ideas in LiveHome3d which we will give to the TF MF to do an accurate design. Brochure.pdf
