  4. Hi, I have a problem with a window in my garage. The windows board hasn't been put in yet, but i notice that rain water is coming in underneath the window. It looks like there is a gap between the window and the window sil. Should I put sealant on along this gap.
  5. Thanks Jamieled and Conor When I google duckfoot bends, most of them seem to be steel ? are you referring to the steel ones ? @Conor There is no vent pipe on this branch
  6. Hello, I have a problem with a sewage pipe that is coming from an internal toilet. Every so often there is a strong rotten eggs smell coming from the sewage bend in the attached photo when you stand beside it outside. Its not there all the time, but probably correlates with about 10% of the time when someone does a number two in that toilet. It seems the smell is coming from where the bend and pipe join. Should this be happening ? Is it that there is a problem with the seal in the bend ? any tips to fixing this problem would be much appreciated.
  7. Apologies if this question has been asked before ! Should rain water drains for down pipes have traps ? Most of ours just have elbows. Note the sewer and rainwater system is separate, just wondering what best practice is for this ?
  8. Hello, Has anyone come across a tool for removing a 310*310 gully hopper cover instead of using a screw driver ? would a suction cup lifter work ? thanks
  9. Hello, My driveway slopes down to meet our house. I'm nervous that if I put in a 100mm wide aco drain at the top of the driveway that it won't be sufficient. I see wider aco drains in commercial settings, just wondering if anyone has used them in a domestic setting ? Will it look okay ? Thanks
  10. Thanks for the feedback folks

  13. Hello, I'm in the process of splitting our external garage into a office, the office is going to be 12.5sqm in size. The walls are insulated with a 250mm pumped cavity bead. I'm wondering what type of electrical heating option would people recommend I use ? Thanks
  14. @MrMagic just wondering are you still happy with your VentAxia ? i'm planning on converting part of my garage and im looking at a ventilation solution.
  15. Thanks again for the replies, and thanks for your patience with me on this matter. I'm a novice on these matters. I have attached a picture from the manual on the solenoid configuration. I have been able to reduce the noise by moving to a hiblow pump, and also using a different housing than the one supplied. from reading the threads it does seem as though the solenoid is needed.
  16. Thanks for the quick replies. The air pump outlet is blocked for the 59 minutes. Its a HIBLOW XP80 airpump. Jeremy the solenoid could indeed be preventing the sludge from coming back up the pipework, I hadn't thought of that
  17. We have a Klargester BioFicient+ waste water treatment system, It has an air blower attached to it, between the treatment system and the air blower there is a solenoid which regulates the air going to the system, every 60 minutes it allows air into the tank for 60 seconds. However for the other 59 minutes of the hour the air blower is operational but doing nothing as the solenoid is blocking the air. This is my understanding of how it all fits together ! pls correct me if I'm wrong. I was wondering if i could remove the solenoid, and attach the blower to a smart socket which would come on for a minute every hour hence controlling how much air is going to the tank, but also meaning the air blower is not running 24hours a days. The blower is a bit noisy hence my preference for it not to be running 24hours a day.
