Hello all.
I am looking for recommendations for buildings insurance for our recently completed barn conversion.
I have had quotes online from generic insurance companies but it is essential that it is insured correctly as it's situation is quite unique and I imagine in an insurers eyes potentially problematic should a claim ever be made.
It is essentially a steel framed lean to that we have added new floor and load bearing cavity walls on all four sides. 25m long and 9m deep. The rear and one side butts up to adjacent farm buildings (still in use, one used to store fertiliser occasionally, separately insured by the farm).
We had a quote from the NFU after a site visit with all the intricacies noted and the quote was around £1500 - they are a great insurer who always pay out but I found the quote a little eye-watering compared to others.
Has anybody any experience of similar circumstances? Or recommendations for suitable insurers who may be willing to make a site visit?
Any helpful input greatly appreciated.
