  1. Hi JohnMo, thanks for the response. I think I will try to run my system on eco with no immersion and a 2 hour timer with DHW set to 50.
  2. Is it best to heat the DHW on economical mode (No immersion and set to 48 but probably rarely gets above 43) with a timer set for 1 to 2 hours overnight on E7 or am I better to heat on standard DHW mode? (And does that require the immersion to be on?)
  3. Thanks Conor, you would still recommend weather comp but max flow for heating for heating down at 35c. Is that warm enough for you when it’s really cold? My house has okay insulation but built in 2004 with upstairs renovated in 2009 so not brilliant. Only had the pump in for 1 month so still trying to figure out what’s best. Much much better as my previous set up with storage heaters downstairs and wet radiators upstairs, off an electric boiler and 300l megaflow, so I’m very happy with the new ASHP but lack of knowledge and fiddling with settings trying to maximise COP and find the happy medium.
  4. Reading old posts on the forum and I came across some intriguing content from very respected posters saying they actually turned off weather compensation mode on their ASHP for a better COP rating. The posts were from way back in 2019. Is there something in this and should I switch from WComp mode, and if so what is the best settings for a Samsung R32 gen 6? Thanks.
  5. So if you have the immersion turned off the only option is eco; that would make sense. All down to whether or not I can get enough DHW to satisfy my needs without the need of my immersion or if, actually a small burst of immersion could actually be cheaper to run compared to the heat pump on eco trying to hit 48 degrees DHW?
  6. Definitely planning to upgrade at least one bathroom and ditch the electric shower. My thinking is if I don’t have showers coming off the heat pump and only occasionally use a bath the only hot water I really need is the sink so therefore eco mode should be fine with no need for immersion to bring up the temperature. I also have a cheap overnight rate. Just not sure if the real difference between eco and standard on this Hp.
  7. Help the novice! I am wondering if I should use standard or economical setting and the difference between them? I currently have the immersion switched off, no legionella cycle and still have electric showers. I do have a big bath that is used occasionally. Can you set a timer for DHW if the immersion is off and set to economical?
  8. What is difference between economical and standard DHW mode settings and can standard work with immersion turned off?
  9. Still trying to work out the best DHW settings for my system. 250l tank for a large bath that I plan to do away with! 2 Showers which are still electric but will change one with bathroom refurb. DHW set to 48 - but how do I set a timer for it to heat overnight and most efficient settings with Immersion and Legionella Cycle turned off too. Any advice appreciated.
  10. Thanks for the reply’s. It’s definitely well treated water. I think I will turn it off altogether for a week or 2 and monitor my usage. If there’s not much variation then I will look to switch it back on. Another question would be, if it is on, is a 90 min delay time best for a 250l tank?
  11. Thanks for the reply Conor. And no need for the immersion, so switch that off too?
  12. Quick one - I have a new Samsung gen 6 8kw ASHP with 250l tank and radiators. Rads set to 45 and DHW at 48. Question is, should I turn off the legionella cycle and immersion? Thanks.
