Hi everyone, Here to glean all your experiences before starting to build as although I have built before, including ICF, things rapidly change. I know having lived with various renewables the upsides and downsides of many so hoping other’s experiences of living with them either confirm my thoughts or change my mind. Based in the Highlands on an exposed site with my own plot and it will be a gradual build starting this year. 1. Anyone built a TimberKings type house? The massive logs. Downsides? 2. Anyone built with Durisol? Any downsides? 3. Any experience of resin poured floors in the main house, especially how it lasts in thoroughfares after a year or more? 4. Any experience of a logburner plus secondary water mixing chamber to feed u/f wet heating after two years? Still happy or fed up chopping logs? 5. Anyone built their own mini water wheel without worrying about FiTs and certified installation? 6. Anyone used those rubber recycled roof tiles that morph into one after one summer? Any problems? (esp if you too are in a very exposed windy site). Look easy to lay. Are they? Thats it for now. Thanks.
