  1. So I’ve half fitted the system and the Heatpex is brilliant, the tube is flexible and the fittings are great. The 3 ports on the plenum are quite bulky but it’s not been an issue. Thank for pointing me in the right direction for a supplier, I’ve got 1 plenum and I should have some ducting left over. If your local to Frodsham your welcome to take whatever’s left👍
  2. I’ve just ordered 60m2 of 75mm Knauf RS45 for the stud walls and 100m2 of 100mm Omnifit Roll for between the floors. After advice from here and Knauf technical this seems to be the best performance per £ solution. I’ll let you know how it goes and the results👍
  3. Music to my ears👍 I was debating doing one room with the expensive stuff to see if I could tell a difference
  4. Right, I’m guessing the RS45 will obviously be the better option but would it be worth the expense over the Omnifit roll? I’ve spoken to Knauf and the Acoustic roll is 18kg/m3, Omnifit was either 28 or 33kg/m3 and the RS45 is erm, 45😂 we already have a gypsum based UFH system on the first floor and that has worked great at reducing the noise transfer already. We have 400 centres so the Omnifit would be easier to fit but I just can’t decide. I know on paper what the best one to use it but I have no real experience with it.
  5. Bit of a silly question. Probably no best way but here goes. I have a BROOKVENT airstream Ace MEV with 1 x 125mm external connection and 11 75mm inlets. I can position the fan so the 125mm can extract directly outside with no bends and a 1.5m duct run but all 75mm ducts will have to be approx 2m longer Or I can position it and use 2 125mm 90 elbows with approx 3.5m of external duct length but all 75mm ducts will be 2m shorter Will it actually matter or am I over thinking it
  6. Quick update, fired a few question over to natural green heat and got a reply almost instantly so ordered the system (duct and plenums) Shortly after ordering got a call from them explaining how the Heatpex system goes together and confirming it’s all ready to be shipped! I can’t remember the chaps name who I spoke to but he was extremely knowledgeable on the product, gave me the company backstory and I’m glad jayc89 put me onto them👍 For anyone contemplating 75mm or 95mm ducting pick up the phone to them for some good honest advice. Companies like this are rare so we have to keep them going🫡
  7. It actually looks like really good kit, I did see it on BPCs website but dismissed it was it was similarly priced to the Zehnder and Airflow stuff which are more recognised. I spend hours procrastinating over things like only to fit it and never give it a second thought once it’s in.
  8. They do 75mm stuff too and it’s almost half the price of the Airflow or Zehnder (ducting) Specs look pretty good too with the plenum being long enough to mount on floorboards upstairs and have enough length to penetrate the ceiling. I’m going to price it up and see where I get too on it. Have you used the Aria before?
  9. That is a good price but I’m after 75mm, I’ve just ordered the BROOKVENT airstream ace with the 75mm spigots!
  10. I’ve read that there’s a lot of difference between manufacturers but these 2 seem quite well regarded and are coming in at very similar prices. It’s purely for extraction so which one would you go for? I’m swaying more towards the Airflex but using the Zehnder duct clips, all from the same supplier.
  11. Ignore the layout on the drawings, on the picture the shower is going where the scaffold board is, toilet is the ladder and sink is the hop up step. The red dot is where I’m thinking of putting the extract valve as the void behind is perfect with the MEV unit on the other side of the brick wall behind it. I could get some flat 51 duct and go further up the ceiling but I’d be compromising the insulation. I guess if it doesn’t work too well we can just open the massive Velux to clear the moisture! Maybe I'm just overthinking the whole thing!
  12. Thanks for the replies, I did consider a dmev but I really didn’t want roof penetrations and the brick wall backs onto the stairs. I do have another bathroom that I will probably use a dmev fan for as the duct run back to the MeV will be double the rest of the runs.
  13. Hi, I’m sorting out our MEV system but unsure what to do in our en-suite. it’s a vaulted ceiling with little space, would the position of the extractor in the picture below be OK or am I best figuring out how to get it as high as possible?
  14. Out of curiosity, where was your Rationel quote from? Our Rationel was 17k fitted, the Liniar was £6200 supply only. thanks
