  1. Best lace I went to and ended up buying was in the A52 just passed Whatton. Bobby was the chap running it and they sited it too. I’ve actually enjoyed living in it but…… it does get tough in winter. Shame as well have to cut this out due to space constraints/ or clad it if my wife will go along with the idea……. Good luck
  2. Hi Simon, I’ve asked a friend of a friend. He did a similar one in Ireland this year. I’m also helping out and I’ve been watching you tube a lot. To be honest I’m really excited about it. Everyone has wood as a clad surface and I wanted to try something different. I think it looks great. move used Accord Steel who have been really patient, very thorough and have also carried out a cutting schedule. Tony has been a real help at this company and I went to see the factory too. They’re also supplying the box profile roof which is wider than normal so looks remarkably like standing seam but at a fraction of the price. Let me know if you need any more info ?
  3. Would anybody have a copy of the xl file. I can't seem to find it and am just looking into whether to invest in an ASHP or gas boiler for my sips - based on the home requirements and budget. I'd really appreciate this.
  4. Not sure I have your stamina........ ? Blimey 3rd.... Any advice on heat loss calcs or ASHP vs. a trad boiler system?
  5. The SIPS arrives on monday.......... I'm a little worried about the overheat lines from BT but will deal with this at the time. Its a 3wk build and I'm tryign to mange the full process myself as well as a full time job. Not easy............. The roof is metal box profile and the walls are metal corrugated steel as well (coloured). Fingers crossed. Any adivce on the heat source you have used (ASHP or boiler).? I'm an engineer so trying to find a good source for the heat loss calcs
  6. Hi - yes it will be water tight (as left by Glosfords) and the metal roof is actually going to be a wide box profile roof from accord steel (35/1000 profile) - which from the road looks exactly like standing seam. It is a much chepaer system to install as well and the wall clad on the 1st flr is Corrugated Steel in Goosewing grey. - Its a liitle different but I've checked mockups. Grd flor will be a std render. I'll get the plans loaded.
  7. Yes my lad lives there. I love Sneinton Market at the weekend and the Angel too in town. ?
  8. Hi Yes it is. Its a nice place near to Notts (and Notts Forest). Hi and thanks. The expected start date is Monday (18th) whwen the Sips arrives. I'm a little worried about the overhead lines but fingers crossed. I'm trying to invrstigate the house heat loss calcs - any advice on this. I'm thinking of either a traditional boiler or going down the ASHP route - which I'd prefer.?
  9. I'm endeavouring to build a new build SIPS home for my family in West Bridgford. We decided after some time to knock dowmn the old house and to place an eco home on here that we'd both not compromise on and enjoy with our family. I've never project managed such a large project before and there's a lot of learning on the job. So far we've gained PP / moved into a static caravan on site / demolished the old house / dug foundations / poured and completed ground work (block and beam). The SIPS building from Glosfords arrives on the 18th October 2021. Starting to get nervous now.............. 1676L2114 revD.pdf
