Outdoor christmas lights

Getting to that time of year, will have to get christmas lights up again. 

 

Looking any tips on keeping them in place, i use the gutter clips but every year they blow up on top of the roof and into the gutter. 

 

Should i perhaps secure them to underneath the soffit, what would i use

 

Or maybe put a fishing weight on the end of each light

Hang under the gutter and use clear cable ties to fix to the gutter clips? You can get some tension in the strings then, to stop them flapping about.

I've used the self adhesive plastic hooks/clips successfully. Ensure the surface is clean, and stick them below gutter for some protection from the elements.
