TonyR2025 Posted October 3 Posted October 3 (edited) I’ve just picked up some UPVC windows from Facebook Marketplace for an outbuilding renovation project. One came fully glazed but the other with the glass out. Normally when I’ve refitted the glazing the seal is integral to the bead but on these ones the bead and the seal are separate and the design means that is how they are meant to be (see photo). I’ve searched Google and YouTube but can’t find anything on how you refit them. Are you supposed to push them in after fitting the beads or is there some other trick of installing them together when all the seal wants to do is fall out the bead? And advice much appreciated. The gasket is 6mm thick and not very compressible. Concerned I am going to damage them as it will need a screwdriver or similar to force them in. Unless there are any other suggestions on here I might try taping them to the bead to hold them in place while I fit them and then removing the tape. Job for tomorrow, not today though with the weather.
