Hels13 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Hi all, I've been trying to fix my creaky stairs (no access from underneath unfortunately). I've screwed down the treads and screwed through the back of the treads into the risers, adding some wood glue as I went (pics attached). Unfortunately, it seems they're still creaking (albeit a little less) and I'm all out of ideas. Any thoughts?
JamesP Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Good job but probably need vertical support underneath. I have same issue to resolve, no access underneath. What is the final finish, paint / carpet ? I will probably remove some of the riser or tread to fix verticals underneath. It's on the list. 1
Hels13 Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 I'm planning on filling in and sanding down the holes, then wood stain on top, white on risers, possibly a carpet runner down middle. Thanks for the advice 👍
