HanleeHouse Posted August 1 Posted August 1 HI all, I'm looking to start on the external of our build. (Timber Frame up and watertight and first fixing) We have an insulated raft foundation, with sole plate sitting on DPC straight to the raft. The external finish is 38mm battens, followed by 12mm cement board followed by 30mm lightweight stone cladding. My question is, how's best to finish the DPM / DPC / External membrane? Also, where to bring the vertical battens down to? Level with the base of the soleplate, or below the sole plate? Appreciate your help. David

I appreciate you will need level access at the door, but I am never happy with the 'standard' 150 to DPC (/wall-plate in this case). No-one told the rain where I live that it can only splash up 150mm, so it does its own thing and splashes up 300.
