Zef Posted July 27 Posted July 27 So we have managed to finish our new build and been signed off!! Never again!! We are doing the VAT claim and have claimed CIL exemption, with the CIL regulations we understand we have to live in our build for 3 years which we plan to do fingers crossed as it is our forever home, however we are planning to go on holiday for a month and would like to rent it out to get some money back, but wanted to know if this is allowed in regard to our VAT claim and CIL exemption? I've searched the forum but can't find any info on this, I know you are not allowed to rent for commercial or as a business, but this would literally just be short term literally 30 days to regain some of the money we have spent!! Does anyone have any insight as to if this is possible?!!
nod Posted July 27 Posted July 27 First of all If you qualify for vat exemption Nothing you do now will effect that Breaching the three years on your Cil would only by triggered at point of sale It all centres around it being your main residence Utilities and CT registered to you at this address confirms this So as long as this stays the same Your fine Forever home I hate that term 😁
