Eldad Posted Tuesday at 19:50 Posted Tuesday at 19:50 We are building a garden office space. The office has steel beams with OSB and PDM on top and plasterboard below. Between the beams, we have Isover glass wool for insulation. The builders said that there is no need to insulate the 45cm overhang before closing it (see image) but this seem strange to me. I have no experience/knowledge but I am worried that there will be too much cold air coming through the uninsualted part. Am I paranoid or do you usually insulate the overhang too?
JohnMo Posted Tuesday at 20:31 Posted Tuesday at 20:31 Is that a load of steel rafters in the roof? If so they are just cold bridging the insulation. You don't need to insulate the overhang, but I would close all the gaps below the insulation as it it's installed now.
