Garage Removal Advice

We have recently moved into a 1958 two-bed bungalow, we are looking to extend at the rear of the property which will mean building into the old garage towards the rear of the property.

 

I will be building a shed further back, so it’s time for the garage to go. Looking at it and understanding the original construction time period. I believe it is an asbestos sectional garage.

 

A friend recommended that we put it on Facebook marketplace for free so the others could potentially extend their garage. However, the legislation seems a bit hazy about whether you can give away things like this.

 

Even the roof could potentially be or contain Asbestos.

 

I have attached some photographs. Has anyone removed something like this before? Is it definitely Asbestos?

Can't open the images, but we had a 1963 sectional garage on our plot. We had to have a demolition survey done anyway (knocking down a bungalow), but that confirmed there was no asbestos, so it was successfully dismantled and "rehomed" via facebook.

 

Although it will cost to have a survey done, even if you are just going to knock it down you need to keep yourselves safe and understand how you are going to dispose of it.

You can usually copy and paste an image into a post, some formats are not supported though.

Pasting in file paths does not work, which is what seems to have happened here.

Get someone to look at it. I wouldn’t touch it.
