Thoughts on ripping out this wall over the stairs

Hi

This 2 inch block wall is from the 60s and is over the stairs. It is built off the floor boards and has had some movement. Not sure if it is due to the builders i had in recently but we ended up with a lot of water damage. There is definitely movement when you touch it and the crack on the left goes all the way to the plaster on the other side. Its not structural and my instincts are to remove this wall and the right hand wall and build a stud but its going to be a bit messy. Advice appreciated.

From your description, I'd probably do the same.

Cheers Mike, anyone think it is repairable or should 2 inch blocks not really be around a staitrcase?
