Walshie Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Hi, I'm planning and refurb and was thinking about building an external 'services' cupboard to house electricity meter, solar controls and battery. The plan is to build a timber double skinned fully insulated (50mm PIR board) cupboard which will then be clad in timber. If I have the battery sitting in there - am I likely to run into any little nasties that will come to bite me? Thanks for your help, W
G and J Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I’m under the impression that solar inverters will generate heat, and perhaps therefore might benefit from some airflow which would negate the insulation. Why insulate such a cupboard?
JohnMo Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Batteries like to be not hot or cold both dent performance. So insulation a good idea. If it's going to be hit by loads of sun it could bake in there, so some mitigation required.
