BTC Builder Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I've got my 225 beams coming next week. At 5.5m long they're about 250kg so absolutely no hope of lifting them. I'm in two minds as to whether to just hire a crane for the day or use a 5 ton machine with some kind of a sling and lift them into place myself. If I opt for the latter, can anyone recommend a sling that can easily be looped around a digger bucket and the kind of knot technique I'll need for easy on and off? Thanks
nod Posted March 26 Posted March 26 The first time round I hired a crane £500 Quick and super easy About two hours This time I had a five ton digger on loan So choked each one I simply removed the bucket and looped a canvas strap through the pin hole on the digger Slower but worked fine
