Warwick_Hope Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Laying porcelain tiles onto a solid type 1 base There is a small sleeper wall (new style sleepers) laid around the edge and want the tiles to overshoot this Will be bedding the tiles on a full bed of mortar, but don't want to put mortar on top of the sleepers Large tiles so 90% will be on hardcore Do I just run a fat bead of silicone or similar on top of the sleepers? Thanks
Temp Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 (edited) Personally I wouldn't overlap. I think there will be too great a risk of movement. In addition I don't think much sticks to pressure treated wood. I can see water getting trapped under the tiles in contact with the wood. Edited March 4, 2025 by Temp
