redfish Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) We plan to replace the slates of two rear sloping roofs in our residential block, as well as place EPDM or cold applied liquid waterproofing (such as Triflex, etc) on the flats roofs. Any feedback on EPDM vs cold applied liquid waterproofing. I know EPDM is cheaper but cost is not an issue as each flat roof is relatively small and costs are divided among several flats. Below is a photo of one of the two flat roofs and the second is very similar. Because the "flat" surface is a bit bumpy, I am thinking towards the liquid than EPDM. I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Thanks. Edited February 12 by redfish
Mr Punter Posted February 12 Posted February 12 You must make sure the new covering achieves B Roof(t4) fire rating.
redfish Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Thanks Mr Punter. When I look at Triflex Protect's specs, it lists the t1, t2, t3, and t4. Would that mena that it passed all 4 tests?
Mr Punter Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Be very careful with fire test claims. Grenfell passed. Class E reaction to fire I think means it is normally flammable. I think it would be best if a professional specified this and get it cleared with Building Control.
Tony L Posted February 15 Posted February 15 If you're in London, you could get this guy round to do a survey & quote. I've learned quite a lot from his Youtube channel. He puts a lot of thought into his work. londonflatroofing.co.uk
