Hi,

I was hoping to get some advice on what to do after a poor 'make good' of walls around the new door where a window use to be.

I have taken a few images for you to see what I am faced with.

Firstly, where the brick work is I was thinking of putting a brick in the gaps and use sand and cement.

Once that is done what plaster could I use to to get a smooth finish and then paint over? This seems a quicker option. If this is the option I take how do I fill the gaps around the door frame? Do I need an angle bead coming down from the old plaster to the floor - if so, what type/size bead do I need?

Or should I take out the old plaster around the door and take it back to brick. That seems I have the options to hard wall the whole area and have a neater finish or plasterboard it and skim it.

I'm no expert but can do a bit of plastering so would like to be able make it look good without being a huge job.

Please could I get some advice on this and what you would do with what products.

Massive appreciation in advance.

Welcome to BuildHub.

I've moved your post to a sub-forum where it's likely to get more attention given the subject matter.

Good luck.
