Hello everyone,

I live in a flat (approx. 6 years old) and my Envirovent Envirosava 200 unit stopped working. It has been the case in all surrounding flats as around 5 years mark the units started packing up.

Quite a few of my neighbours went to the manufacturer (outside 5 years warranty) and had the motors replaced at a cost of between £700 and £900. That was done by contractor recommended by the manufacturer. My unit was intermittent and I was advised to wait until it stops working completely. It did eventually and the contractor came in to provide a quote.

He had a look around when my wife was home, not sure if relevant. I was waiting for a quote to come and expected to form out about £900. He however concluded that the whole unit needed to be replaced at a cost of £2.5k. it was not the case at any of my neighbours so it got me thinking.

i took the unit apart and removed the motors. I tried to get them refurbished with the local electronics expert who deals with similar motors, he could not fix them.

After a research online I found one retailer who sold them and purchased. Unfortunately they came back to me after a week saying they only supplied packs of 16! And cancelled my order.

I rang manufacturer, Soler & Palau and I could order them but the lead time is about 7-8 weeks as rhey need to be ordered from Spain.

The motors are from Soler & Palau

CRBB/3-160/052M EC 1H0 MP.

Do the motors have to be exactly the same or could I find a replacement for them? Google does not return many results and I was advised by the manufacturer that there is probably limited stock in the UK. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

I also found a brand new unit at a cost of £895 off ebay with full warranty and I am considering purchasing it instead however I am aware that this would require commissioning process and potentially additional costs.

I don’t want to pay £2.5k where I believe the replacement is not warranted.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
