Don't read too much into this...

 

Although an outright ban has been dropped, for now, it is likely that other methods will be used to ensure that ASHP remains the most obvious choice for all households, and the government has just setup a 'nudge' department to do just that, Psy-Op.

 

I would imagine the gas tax will make a return at some point too!

Mmm yes, because the government have been so effective at "nudging" other necessary changes. How are those "reduce car miles driven by 20-30%" targets going...

 

As expected, once in power Labour begin talking out of the other side of their face - the only "climate action" they're interested in is locking up grannies longer than they would if they'd stabbed someone for sitting on a road, and the only "voices for change" their ears can hear are industry lobbyists. People in England are beginning to grasp something a lot of Scots have known for years now: Vote Labour, Get Tory. One way or another. And London Bubblers will still stare at each other in bewilderment when polling puts populists who at least *pretend* authenticity ahead.
