Solar on Class Q

Hello,

    We’ve just submitted planned to

convert a agricultural barn to a dwelling. The plans say to keep all the metal sheeting. I’ve spoke to a builder who basically said they just build inside the existing structure and keep the outside. 
 

How would we get around having Solar Panels? There’s no gas mains so we were going down the ASHP and solar.
