Post and beam Posted October 28 Share Posted October 28 I think i know the answer to this question but i dont want to chase ever decreasing gains if the risk is miniscule. So, a gap where you can see daylight is presumably in need of insulating, see picture. What about a gap of 2mm. Our kicker blocks have the Grey DPC and then sole plate on that, nothing unusual there. Mr Punter Posted October 28 Share Posted October 28 If it is airtightness you are concerned with, some mastic or tape would help. I don't see the point in insulation there as it is too small a gap. When I have had bigger gaps under sole plates they are normally chocked up, then we will fill with mortar from a pointing gun. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
