Post and beam
That'll be a no then i guess. As it happens , although the quality looked great they could not deliver the price they said they could when it came time to order.
Nick Laslett
@Post and beam, yes we have 2 George Barnsdale doors. Very happy with them. The U-values were not very good, just scraping under minimum requirement for BR. Not sure if their window frames can achieve a better U-value now. Bought them in 2021, installed in 2022. The installer just fitted them with expanding foam. We put airtightness tape over the joint. Visit your nearest installer to see the product. As i described, we thought the product looked good. We saw this in their offices in Lincolnshire. We also had a tour around the factory. Have gone elsewhere now for the reasons previously stated. EdHat Posted Thursday at 16:20 Share Posted Thursday at 16:20 @Post and beam Which manufacturer did you end up using out of interest? George Barnsdale do look very good on first impression, they put a lot of information out there on their website which makes incorporating them in a design early on easy. Post and beam Posted yesterday at 08:14 Author Share Posted yesterday at 08:14 We went with timberwindows.com, and they are due to install starting 27th Jan. Nearly there. For 2 reasons really #1 Barnsdale's could not beat the price that we had from timberwindows when they assured us they could. #2 Their showroom display is no where near as good as what our chosen supplier have to view. They did not have a bi fold door set in the style we wanted, and although they said they would build whatever we wanted i preferred to stick with what we had already seen in the flesh. Especially based on #1 above. Cannot wait to see what the windows and doors look like in 10 days time.
