What does this term mean please?

I have been made aware of this term today in the context of Window & door fitment and the requirements of the scaffolders. 'door to be ladder beamed'

I was trying to understand what modifications need to be made to the scaffolding to allow the glazing to be installed.

means no poles or legs in the opening so its clear.  scaffs love to leave their poles long and shove them through openings to save cutting them.

I wonder how that works for the fitting of a 3.1 metre Bi fold?
