Ruser1491
Hey guys, Looking for some assistance on some outside of the box solutions here. I have a cranked beam to run alongside the party wall (supporting on a load bearing wall separating front and back rooms) to support two chimney stacks in either room On the back room, the room is slightly narrower thus the cranked beam is measured to bear on the timber lintel as opposed to 100mm brickwork originally proposed. Since the RSJ is being kept at the front of the chimney stack for optimal support, there is no way I can cut short the wooden lintel and still have a 150mm bearing What are my options here? Builder suggested a steel plate ontop of the wooden lintel to spread the load SE is mia at the moment so want to see what potential solutions there could be

Ruser1491
I've asked but he's MIA at the moment, so just want to know the options (which I'll get him to confirm with calcs). If anyone has had experience of similar. That'll allow me to pause works from the builder POV or continue if the remedial works are not expressively destructive
