Siadwell Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 I'm considering using the above as supplied by toolstation to fasten 19mm thick larch waney boards. This is external use but the heads will not be exposed to the elements, the specification claims "Corrosion-resistant – salt spray-tested to 400 hours" I prefer using torx drive as they don't cam out and are reliable. Is this a good choice?
JohnMo Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 If using larch use stainless fixing. We have larch cladding on house all stainless not a black streak anywhere, our garage was done by others, and they insisted galvanized fixing would be no issue, black streaks everywhere. Don't compromise you will regret it.
Siadwell Posted September 1, 2024 Author Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) I will go with stainless steel screws then I didn't realise that larch reacts to certain metals, thank you for that Edited September 1, 2024 by Siadwell spelling!
